Faculty Self-Evaluation
Please write about your past job performance and plans for professional growth and development.
Your self-evaluation might explore these topics, and your responses may vary based on full-time, probationary, and part-time faculty needs and opportunities:
Student interaction strategies and methodology:
Possible questions to consider include:
- What new and effective classroom activities, pedagogical approaches, or student interaction strategies have you used recently? How have you reflected on feedback and evidence for making those changes?
- What pedagogies or inclusionary strategies have you implemented or are considering implementing to promote racially equitable outcomes for your students?
- What plans do you have to continue developing your activities and approaches in the future?
- Are you interested in sharing some of your successful strategies and methods with colleagues? If so in what formats (departmental meetings, Canvas Homeroom, Flex Day, etc.).
Professional Development:
Possible questions to consider include:
- What professional challenges have you experienced this semester?
- How do you plan on addressing these challenges in the future?
- What professional development activities, including those focused on diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion, have you completed since your last evaluation, and what activities do you anticipate pursuing in the near future?
Professional Responsibilities: (this category may not be applicable for part-time and probationary faculty)
Possible questions to consider include:
- In what ways, if any, have you participated in campus, district, statewide, or community activities? Why did you participate in that service? In what ways do you think your service might improve student outcomes in your class and/or across the college?
- What are your plans, if any, for participating in campus, district, statewide, or community activities in the coming semesters? (This may not be applicable for part-time and probationary faculty)
Needs and Goals:
- What support do you need from the college or your department to accomplish your goals related to teaching and methodology, professional responsibilities and/or professional development?
