Shared governance – when the administration shares with the faculty what the administration plans to do.

Accountability - a proposed new system in education in which those who are accountable to no one will hold everyone else accountable.

No smoking policy – indeed, there is no smoking policy at SMC.

Student Learning Outcomes – grades.

75/25 ratio – A goal of the system which is to have 75 administrators for every 25 faculty.  This remains only a goal because of budget difficulties.

Pension reform – a proposed public policy to add retired teachers to the homeless population.

Impasse – a process which results in new trustees and new administrators while the faculty remain the same.
