What are the duties of the President and the Vice President of the Association?

The President of the Association conducts the day-to-day affairs of the Association and serves as its spokesman. The Vice President serves as President in the President's absence and chairs the Professional Rights and Responsibilities (Grievance) Committee.

      On July 16/17, at the the SMC Board of Trustees Retreat, the Board met in closed session to evaluate the President and to decide on any revisions to the President's contract.

      The Board of Trustees renewed the contract of Dr. Piedad Robertson, current President of Santa Monica College, for a period of four (4) years, effective January 1, 2005 and running through December, 2008.

      The Board of Trustees also approved a revision of the President's salary.  The deferred payment plan provided in the current contract will be terminated.  The President's salary was set at $203,846.
