What is the "contract"?

The contract spells out the salaries, working conditions, and grievance rights for faculty at SMC. The current collective bargaining agreement (also known as the "contract") is in effect from August 21, 2007, to August 23, 2010. A complete copy of the agreement is posted on this website. Paper copies are available upon request to any faculty who wants one.

September 2004, Volume 15, Issue 1 - Veteran's Day Holiday Changed at SMC PDF Print E-mail

 

The 2004-2005 college calendar has moved the college’s observance of Veterans Day from November 11 to November 12.  The Federal holiday remains on November 11, but the college will still hold classes that day.  The administration requested the change in order to balance the same number of MW classes with the same number of TTh classes.  Therefore, the solution that the FA agreed to with the administration was to move the college’s observance of Veterans Day to Friday, November 12.
