A 2% Salary increase, step increment adjustment effective Fall, 2002.
A Final Note on Negotiation Danglers
Over the course of negotiations the Faculty Association has endeavored to secure additional staff parking spaces. An agreement on securing additional staff parking spaces would mean that the District would have to designate exclusive staff parking by the placement of the appropriate signs. Faculty currently have the option to park in non-staff parking at no loss to the District. The number of faculty/staff and non-staff parking spaces remain the same. However, with the District designating additional staff parking, there is a gain for the entire college. With designated staff parking, faculty can avoid parking in non-staff parking and get to class. Again, the faculty are not gaining more spaces because the total number of spaces are the same. With designated staff parking, the District will create an environment in which the flow of traffic and collegiality flourish.
The cogs of progress grind slowly. The Faculty Association is hopeful that the District is willing to negotiate additional staff parking.
