The second phase of compressed steps adjustment takes place at the beginning of the Fall 2002 semester. Salary schedules affected by this adjustment include: Probationary and Tenured Faculty, Department Chairs, Coordinators, and Hourly Faculty with load factor one.
For 2002-03 the current Probationary and Tenured Faculty salary schedule will be adjusted by increasing the step increment for the compressed steps to $1399.50, which is 75% of the normal steps increment ($1866). In the Probationary and Tenured Faculty salary schedule steps 1-12 in Group I, steps 1-13 in Group II, and steps 1-14 in Group II-VII are considered normal steps and the remaining are compressed step.
However, all the salary schedules will increase by 2.00%, reflecting the COLA for 2002-03.
All full-time faculty members should see these adjustments (the annual step advancement, compressed step adjustment, and COLA) in their October 1 paycheck.
For full-time faculty members who are getting paid in twelve equal monthly installment, beginning August 1st; their first two pay checks (August 1st and September 1st) included the annual step advancement base on the 2001-2002 salary schedule and they will receive a retroactive check some time in October for the difference between the 2001-02 and 2002-03 salary schedules.
