The following salary schedules will be affected by the compressed steps increase: full time faculty, Department Chairs, Coordinators, and Hourly Faculty with load factor one.

In the current probationary and tenured faculty salary schedule the increment for steps 1-12 in Group I, steps 1-13 in Group II, and steps 1-14 in Group II-VII (normal steps) is $1796. For the remaining steps (compressed steps) the increment is $449, which is 25% of $1796. For 2001-02 the probationary and tenured faculty salary schedule will be adjusted by increasing the step increment for the compressed steps from $449 to $898, which is 50% of $of $1796. Increasing the compressed steps increment will increase the salary in the first affected step by $449, the second affected step by twice that, the third affected step by three times that and so on.

All the salary schedules will increase by 3.87% which is the approved COLA for 2001-02. After applying the COLA, the probationary and tenured faculty salary schedules will have a normal step increment of %1866 and compressed step increment of $933.

For 2002-03 the salary schedules will be adjusted again by increasing the compressed steps increment to $1399.50 which is 75% of the normal steps increment. For 2003-04, the compressed steps increment will increase to 100% of the mormal step increment. For 2002-03 and 2003-04 all the salary schedules will also increase by the COLA percentage, which are unknown at this time. The following table demonstrates the salaries for group III; steps 13-19 assuming that there is no COLA for 2002-03 and 2003-04.
