What is the "contract"?

The contract spells out the salaries, working conditions, and grievance rights for faculty at SMC. The current collective bargaining agreement (also known as the "contract") is in effect from August 21, 2007, to August 23, 2010. A complete copy of the agreement is posted on this website. Paper copies are available upon request to any faculty who wants one.

The Faculty Association of California Community Colleges (FACCC) recently announced its award for full-time and part-time faculty member of the year and those honors go to Fran Chandler, past president of our own Faculty Association and long-time, hard working member of FACCC, and Lantz Simpson, current president of SMCFA, and state chairperson of the California Part-time Faculty Association (CPFA).   SMCFA former Chief Negotiator, Teri Bernstein was runner-up for Faculty Advocate of the Year.

The honorees will receive their awards at the FACCC Annual Conference, September 28-29 in San Jose.
