District Presents Experimental Proposal

At the second-to-last meeting of the Activity Hour Task Force, the District presented a proposal orally that contained the following for the academic year 1999-2000:

  1. A complete elimination of the Tuesday activity hour.
  2. An elimination of all Tuesday/Thursday, noon classes even though this is one of the most poop lar time slots.
  3. Ten to fifteen “high demand” Tuesday/Friday, 11:15-12:35 classes will be offered.
  4. An activity hour on Thursday with twenty extra minutes.
  5. The Tuesday/Thursday time pattern will follow Monday/Wednesday except for 11:15-12:35, when no Tuesday/Thursday classes will be offered.

What does the District gain from this? Why would the District eliminate Senate and Tuesday club meeting times? How will the Activity Hour Task Force vote on this?
