Part-time Faculty Earn Less Than Full-timers by Lantz Simpson

Reaction to the study has been mixed. Many faculty advocates are disappointed that the study did not go further and were concerned that the sample was skewed toward larger districts (both Los Angeles and San Francisco were included). The Chancellor's Office issued a comment, claiming, among other things, that the state auditor exaggerated the amount of teaching done by part-time faculty statewide. The Governor's office has said little, but has stated that it is still waiting for the CPEC report, which received funding in this year's budget. There has been no word from the legislature regarding possible legislation in light of the report.
