I. Approval of Minutes, April 8, 2010 http://www.smcfa.org/index.php/meetings/65-minutes-and-agendas-spring-2010/1221-draft-minutes-april-8-2010 It was moved by Dennis Frisch that the minutes be approved as submitted. Passed unanimously II. Approval of Bylaws – First Reading: Motion: It was moved by Lantz Simpson that section B from the revised Bylaws be sent back to the Bylaws committee for reconsideration. Passed with one objection Motion: The Executive Committee recommends that the Representative Assembly approve the first reading of the proposed Bylaws revisions. Passed unanimously III. Motion from the Executive Committee: The Executive Committee recommends that the Representative Assembly approve a $1000 donation to AFT1521 Foundation in the name of Carl Friedlander, Carolyn Widener and Susan Aminoff. Passed unanimously IV. Benefits Committee Report – Fran Chandler The District-wide Benefits Committee passed a resolution stating that a mutually agreed upon consultant should analyze and summarize the effect on employees currently enrolled in PERS Care if the district were to switch to PERS Choice. The committee unanimously agreed that there is not enough time to meet the District’s fall deadline. Negotiations shall proceed, without recommendations. Committee meets again on May 19. V. Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report – Keith Graziadei The President signed the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) agreeing to reduce greenhouse gases. The college has enacted a climate action plan. They have been collecting and making recommendations. The committee can use help. If interested contact Keith Graziadei. VI. President’s Report: In November of 2009, DPAC made a recommendation, which was approved by Dr. Tsang, “DPAC recommends that the District develop a plan by Fall 2010 to transition from relying heavily and primarily on the printed schedule of classes to alternative delivery methods” At the last Board meeting, however, the Board approved printing the class schedule for an additional three years. Don Girard attended the DPAC meeting on May 12th to explain why the district needs to print class schedules. According to Don Girard, the district has printed 117,000 copies of the class schedule for the fall. 15,000 copies are for internal use and 102,000 copies have been mailed. VII. Negotiations Report – Howard Stahl - deferred. VIII.
