The meeting was called to order at 11:15 A.M.

I. The minutes of February 28 and March 14, 2002 were unanimously approved.

II. President's Report-Lantz Simpson

A. The new parking structure is open but faculty spaces have not yet been designated.
B. Budget Committee meeting-Tom Donner predicted that the district reserve funds will drop to $2.4 million this fiscal year. Such a drop would place SMC on the chancellor's "watch list" which would mean that the district would not be required to meet the goals for hiring full-time faculty for Fall, 2002. A district goes on the watch list when the reserves drop below 3% of total expenses. The Faculty Association is committed to preserving new full-time faculty hiring.

III. Negotiations Report-Robert Flores

A. The contract is finished, edited, signed and should be printed by next week.

B. Negotiations continue on the subjects of part-time office hours, load factors, and staff parking (including the possibility of one all staff parking lot.).

IV. Motion from the Executive Committee-Reassigned time

The Executive Committee moves that the following reassigned time be provided to Faculty Association officers and committee chairs for the Summer and Fall of 2002.
