I. President's Report-Lantz Simpson A. Andrew Walzer strongly encouraged all members to vote in the FACCC elections, since three SMC members are running for office, Ken Mason, Dennis Frisch, and Kym McBride. B. Members are encouraged to check the Save Our Schools website at www.sos-ccc.org for information and suggestions for action on the crisis in education in California. C. A memorandum of understanding on retirement incentives will soon be brought to the Assembly for approval. D. Discussions continue on the termination of Vocational Programs. II. Motion from the Executive Committee By-laws Revision-Second Reading Article III Representative Assembly Section D: Limits on Expenditure Executive Committee motion to delete this section passed unanimously. III. Motion from the Executive Committee In order to save employment for part-time faculty, the Representative Assembly encourages full-time faculty to voluntarily reduce their intersession assignments (summer and winter). The following amendment was made and seconded: Insert after part-time faculty "who are without full-time employment elsewhere." Amendment passed unanimously. Motion passed unanimously. IV. Motion from the Executive Committee The Executive recommends to the Representative Assembly the Joint Academic Senate-Faculty Ad Hoc budget scenarios of April 9, 2003 on the budget crisis and urges the Assembly to endorse it. Motion passed unanimously. V.
