1. President’s Report — Lantz Simpson 1. Report on Budget Committee 2. Reassigned time — Robert Sammis reported to the Faculty Association that all discretionary reassigned time will be eliminated in Spring 2001. The Academic Senate has called a general meeting to discuss this issue. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, October 6.
II. Political Action Committee — Ken Mason
The Political Action Committee fundraiser will be held as planned on Saturday, October 7 from 2-5 P.M. at 11595 Sunset Blvd.
3. Legal Fund
Ken Mason moved and Robert Flores seconded a motion to establish a legal fund to which individuals and unions may contribute.
The motion passed by unanimous vote. 4. Motion from Executive Committee
Santa Monica College Faculty Association supports Proposition 39 and other propositions that will enhance funding for community college districts.
Fran Chandler moved and Loring Emile seconded an amendment to strike the language following "and other."
The amendment passed unanimously.
The amended motion passed unanimously. 5. Board of Trustees Endorsement Recommendations — Ken Mason 1. The Political Action Committee moved and Robert Flores seconded a motion to support Sheila Kuehl for State Senate, Fran Pavley for State Assembly, and to support a no vote on Proposition KK.
Motion passed unanimously. 1. The Political Action Committee moved and Fran Chandler seconded a motion to endorse the following candidates for SMC Board of Trustees.

Nancy Nieman moved and Ben Martin seconded an amendment to remove Pat McGuire from the list.
Amendment passed unanimously.
Fran Chandler moved and Ben Martin seconded an amendment to remove Joe Weichman’s name from the list.
Passed unanimously.
Ann Maddox moved and Ben Martin seconded an amendment to remove Margaret Carroll’s name from the list.
Motion passed with one nay.
The amended motion to support Robert Klepa and Margaret Quinones passed with three nays and no abstentions.
