When was the Faculty Association formed?

The Faculty Association was formed in 1976, after the legislature passed the Educational Employment Relations Act (EERA), which established collective bargaining for the California community colleges. In 1978, the faculty of the college voted to make the Association the exclusive representative of all college faculty in the arena of collective bargaining.

IV. Motion from the Executive Committee: The Faculty Association Executive Committee recommends that the Representative Assembly support the Santa moica College Bond Issue on the marchballot and encourage individual faculty members to make contributions to the appropriate funds.

V. Motion from the Executive Committee: The Faculty Association Executive Committee recommends the Representative Assembly approve the revised Faculty Association budget as submitted.

VI. Motion from the Executive Committee: The Faculty Association Executive Committe recommends the Representative Assembly approve the following reassigned time for Faculty Association business for Winter and Spring 2002.
