I.  President's Report-Lantz Simpson

 

A  Ken Mason is in Japan for eight weeks on a teaching assignment.

 

B. Board of Trustees member Pat Nichelson resigned at Tuesday’s 9/2 trustees meeting.

 

C. Treasurer Mitra Moassesi reported that, according to analysts with the Chancellor’s   office, the chances of any midyear budget cuts are remote and that the budget outlook for 2004/5 is optimistic.

 

D. Andrew Walzer and Kathy Sucher encouraged members to participate in payroll deduction and fundraisers to raise money for the FA PAC. The PAC is committed to raising money to help elect progressive board members.

 

 

 

 

II.  Approval of 2003-2004 Executive Committee

The FA Assembly unanimously approved FA president Lance Simpson’s recommendations for committee chairmanships.

 

 

 

III. Election of At-Large Executive Commitee Members

The FA Assembly unanimously approved Kim McBride, David Zehr and Jim Martin as at-large members to the Executive Committee of the Faculty Association.

 

IV.  Revival of Job Action Task Force

The Assembly voted unanimously to reconstitute and revive the job action task force.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
