Do part-time faculty have a retirement plan?

Yes. Pursuant to federal law, part-time faculty have three choices. Upon employment, they are automatically entered into a defined contribution plan administered by MetLife. Part-time faculty have the option of joining STRSDB (State Teachers Retirement System), a defined benefit plan, or STRS Cash Balance. Part-time faculty cannot simultaneously belong to all three plans. Please contact MetLife or STRS for plan details.

Section A: The Executive Committee shall consist of the officers, the immediate past president, the chairs of all standing committees, three delegates elected from the Representative Assembly, and the Academic Senate President. The immediate past president, if not currently serving as another officer, shall be on the Executive Committee.

 

Section B: At the discretion of the President, any other ad hoc committee chair may serve as a member of the Executive Committee.

 

Section C: Executive Committee meetings shall be scheduled no less than once each calendar month of the regular academic year and at other times at the call of the President.
