How is the Faculty Association governed?

The Association is governed by two levels of leadership: an Executive Committee and a Representative Assembly. The Executive Committee is made up of the elected officers and a number of committee chairs appointed by the president. These committee chairs communicate to the Executive Committee the interests of their committees (committee volunteers are needed). The Representative Assembly, which meets on alternate Thursdays at 11:15 a.m., is made up of officers elected by the membership at large, appointed committee chairs, and representatives elected by their departments for two-year terms. Faculty visitors to RA meetings are welcome and are, in fact, encouraged.

FACCC offers part-time faculty health and dental options PDF Print E-mail

 

All part-time faculty:


You are all members of FACCC, if you are a member of the SMC Faculty Association. FACCC has launched a way for you to purchase both health and dental insurance for yourself and/or your dependents. The dental coverage offered is very similar to the SMC coverage but can be purchased for single or two-party. Whereas the SMC coverage may only be purchased at the "composite" or three-party rate. With the SMC coverage faculty must qualify with consecutive employment at the requisite number of units. The FACCC coverage does not have such requirements. I urge you explore this additional option for your peace of mind and good health.

DENTAL AND MEDICAL PLANS LAUNCHED

FACCC, in conjunction with JC Insurance, is now offering an affordable Delta Dental plan available to all FACCC members. The plan is now operational, and all interested faculty members are encouraged to sign up.

 

To assist faculty members seeking lower-cost, accessible medical coverage, FACCC is pleased to announce an agreement with Keenan & Associates to offer the SureHealth program to FACCC members. While not a Major Medical Plan, SureHealth can provide valuable protection for you and your family members.
