Article 17, Section 17.13 of the collective bargaining agreement between the District and the Faculty Association provides that for each academic year the District will fund the equivalent of eight semesters of sabbatical leave. For the 2002-03 academic year, the sabbatical committee has recommended only six semesters of sabbatical leave.  The District and the Association hereby agree that the remaining two semesters of sabbatical leave shall be carried over to the 2003-04 academic year.  Therefore, for the 2003-04 academic year, the District will fund up to the equivalent of 10 semesters of sabbatical leave.  It is understood by the District and the Association that this agreement is not to be interpreted as precedent and that for the 2004-05 academic year, the District's obligation for sabbatical leaves shall be as set forth in Article 17, Section 17.13.
