MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
For Changes in Article 22, Department Chairs
April 21, 2008

The District and the Faculty Association agree to the following memorandum of understanding concerning Department Chair reorganization:

1.  The Athletics Department will be assigned to the Kinesiology Department.

2.  Dance will migrate from Kinesiology and form a separate Department.

3.  Article 22.1.2, Reassigned Time has been updated to reflect Department change.
     Based on the approved calculation for Department Chair reassigned time, Dance will
     receive 4.5 LHE  (Fall 2007 WTH).  This represents  +1.5 LHE increase from the 
     existing athletic reassigned time amount.

4.  Article 22.1.4, Department Chair Stipends has been updated to remove Athletics and
     assign Dance the stipend amount of $1,823.00.  This amount is consistent with other
     Departments of similar size.
     *Stipend amounts will be updated to reflect compensation adjustments as stated in
       2007-2010 contract.

5.  The Director of Athletics will assign one fulltime coach annually to serve as a
     faculty liaison and will be included in the Added Responsibility assignment schedule
     (Appendix E-1, Step 3).
