Campus Equity Week |
|
Campus Equity week is a coalition among faculty organizers and organizations throughout higher education to focus attention on the exploitation of contingent employment practices here at Santa Monica College, at community colleges around the state and in higher education across the nation. Here at SMC we will hold two teach-ins to inform and educate faculty on the problems we face, and the possible solutions to these problems. Teach-ins will be held Wednesday, November 2 from 6-7:30 pm, and Thursday, November 3 from 3-4:30 pm in B111. Wednesday evening pizza and drinks will be served—Thursday coffee and sandwiches and deserts will be served. Speakers include: Marcus Harvey from the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) speaking on “Rational Exploitation” ; and Lantz Simpson, SMCFA President, speaking on the 60% Law. For more information contact: Curtis_rebecca@smc.edu or Nelson_Launa@smc.edu (FA part-time co-chairs). No need to RSVP, however please try to email if you plan to attend.
